Description
There are two important parts of a well-thought-out isotonic drink. One is the appropriate electrolyte content, and the other is the essential easy to access energy content. But first, what are electrolytes?
Simply put they are minerals dissolved in body liquids inside and outside of the cells. They are essential anyways for the normal function of our bodies, but during working out or any other sport activity – especially endurance sports – the refill of these minerals is extremely important. All sportsmen and women who have tried to push their limits to the max have experienced that as time goes by and fatigue takes place the performance decreases – but that is not always real tiredness, in many cases this disfunction during working out comes from the deficit of electrolytes.
*Potassium contributes to normal muscle function
Calcium contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to normal muscle function
Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue
The other important aspect of a good isotonic drink is the easily accessible energy, simply put the carbohydrate content. For the right hydration during working out it is key to have a drink with a carbohydrate content between 4% and 8%. This concentration provides the fuel for the body which gives enough power with the right hydration, but does not burden digestion so much that it’d set back sport performance.
Considering these non-negligible aspects, we created our Isotonic Powder product which can be a great plus in sport performance for hobby and competitive sportsmen too!
